The alloy has high carbon and tungsten content, excellent abrasive wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, high red hardness and other excellent properties, but it has poor impact strength and is sensitive to cracking tendency.
It is applied to the occasions of wear-resistant material wear and solid material scouring wear. Screw propeller, pump valve seat, etc.

Cobalt-based alloys are cobalt-chromium alloys melted with appropriate amounts of tungsten and carbon, and the addition of tungsten makes the cobalt matrix further solid solution strengthening. The solubility of carbon in cobalt is very small, so the added carbon and excess tungsten form carbides such as WC, W2C, M6C, and these hard phases are dispersed in the cobalt matrix, resulting in precipitation strengthening effect, making this type of alloy at 800°C At high temperatures, it can still maintain excellent high-temperature strength and high-temperature hardness, so cobalt, chromium, tungsten, and carbon alloys have excellent comprehensive properties such as high temperature wear resistance, high temperature oxidation resistance and thermal fatigue.
Cobalt has a close-packed hexagonal structure below 417°C, has a low coefficient of friction, and has good wear resistance. At a temperature of 417°C, the transformation from close-packed hexagonal crystals to face-centered cubic crystals occurs, resulting in volume stress. Therefore, it is generally necessary to preheat the welded workpiece to 500°C to 600°C during spray welding to prevent cracking of the cobalt-based weld layer.
The cobalt-based alloy powder produced by our company is suitable for plasma surfacing, laser cladding, and oxyacetylene flame spray welding. The cobalt-based spray welding alloy powder introduced below is packaged in plastic drums and iron drums, but Since the powder particles are relatively fine and easily absorb moisture, it is recommended that users use it after drying at 120°C for two hours before use.
